Nicholas Lazarus

Director

Nicholas Lazarus is leading producer of television entertainment with 20 years experience.

"I’ve worked in broadcasting for over 25 years. I know I don’t look like it.

I love my job, food and holidays (when I get the chance to take them).

If I’m not in working, I’m probably eating or on a beach somewhere but sometimes I do all 3 at the same time.

Sassy Films is my passion after my family and Coronation Street."

Nicholas' multi-faceted career began while he was a student by working as a researcher at LBC radio.

His TV career began in earnest when he landed the role as a researcher for BBC1's Wogan.

After graduating to assistant producer at the BBC, he switched to the joint Carlton Television / LWT London News Network at its inception in 1992, helping establish a daily entertainment news offering as a producer by sourcing three stories a night.

In 1995 Nicholas was named Head of Entertainment at Planet 24 supervising the groundbreaking shows The Big Breakfast, Hotel Babylon, Gaytime TV and The Word.

He left in 1997 to set up the Worldwide Entertainment News operation for Mentorn Barraclough Carey servicing Channel 5, NBC Europe and Radio 5 live.

Nicholas and Steve Kemsley finally got together at Banana Split Productions where Nicholas acted as Head of Television.

He has produced or executive produced 100s of hours of entertainment television for LIVING including Celebrity Extra and The Fix and executive produced dozens of TV specials of major UK movie premieres among them: Bridget Jones 2: T4 Movie Special; Batman Begins: Behind the Mask; Shrek the Third; Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix: T4 Movie Special; Spider-Man 3 and The Rolling Stones: Shine a Light. He also worked with the US entertainment network, E! Producing the Baftas Red Carpet and Naked Wild On.

"Nicholas is exceptionally talented and creatively extremely astute at coming up with great ideas," Steve Kemsley says. "He really enjoys giving clients what they want and delivering the absolutely best creative proposition."
